Validation in lieu of a comment

You know something, you guys are the fucking best.

It astounds me that so often in life, you can have a circumstance foisted upon you through no will or act or provocation of your own. This can range from the seemingly innocuous, to the horrific or frightening or deadly -- or all of the above.

And you didn't invite it. You certainly don't welcome it. But there *it* is. On your doorstep, metaphorically speaking. Smacking you upside the head and saying "Hey! Minxy! Deal with this steaming pile of turd that I've left you!"

And there you are, covered in metaphorical turd. Ugh.

So you deal with the turd as best you can, tackling the accompanying feelings of guilt, stress insecurity and distress in as efficient and capable a manner as possible.

And yet you never know if you did it right. You're never quite sure if you shouldn't have handled it another way. Captain Paranoia resurfaces over your shoulder from where you last kicked the little fucker, pokes you in the ear and says "Wait a minute, Minx. Isn't what you did against your principles?"

And then, if you're me, you find that you are lucky and blessed enough to have those around you who will support you. Those who will validate you, and ease your mind.

This post is in lieu of an individual comment. And is written as a sincere and heartfelt thank you to you all -- commenters and lurkers alike.

And enough introspection already. The revealing and salacious posts will recommence shortly. Watch this space. Don't go anywhere.

Canker removed

I practiced censorship for the first time in my bloglife yesterday. Right here, in my little Minxdom. I did it, and I'm proud of having done so. I hope you'll agree with my decision, but it doesn't make a difference either way. I'm not going to change my mind, and i stand proudly and firmly behind my decision.

I don't agree with censorship in principle. In fact, I'm not even sure you could class this as censorship, but whatever it is, I did it, and I am not ashamed.

Here's the story:

I am not, nor have I ever been, one to judge others for their actions, proclivities, likes, dislikes, fetishes and so on. When reading a blog, I am of the considered opinion "if I don't like it, for whatever reason, I leave and I do not return."

Yesterday a new reader commented on this blog. A perfectly pleasant and sweet comment. Naturally, I published it, and then went to visit this person's blog, as is my wont in such a situation. When I saw the blog I was appalled and disgusted at the content. It was a revolting and disgusting blog, concerned with a subject that would repulse and repel the vast majority of you.

It was a blog about raping women. For fun.

I don't know whether this person is being truthful or accurate in his posts. The stories seemed unreal and born of twisted and immature fantasy. For all i know it could be complete nonsense.

I don't give a flying fuck either way.

While I do not generally delete non-spam comments, I still reserve the right to remove anything that comes from a source which I find intolerable. Comments serve as a form of promotion, and I have no wish to promote such a person, nor such a blog. Not here, not in my sanctuary. Not ever.

I do believe in the right to freedom of expression, and as such I am not badgering Blogger to remove this reprehensible piece of shit from their service. Nor am i taking any action other than venting my own feelings in my own space. I am entitled here, much as he is there, to say what i like.

However, freedom of expression still must be tempered with responsibility. Venues for degrading, offensive and hurtful behavior should be marginalized at the very least, and excluded most generally. And i do not necessarily include adult sites or sites overtly sexual in nature in this description. That's my personal understanding.

I therefore do not wish to generate traffic to this person's blog, or generate undue publicity for this blogger, and as such will not repeat the blogger's ID, or the blog address or blog title.

But I do have a message for the blogger in question. You know who you are, please read and digest the following:

If you are reading here now, please leave. I don't want your custom, I don't want your comments, and I don't want you here. I am telling you politely but firmly.

Go away.

You are not welcome.

As for the rest of you, my lovely Minxes and Manxes, watch this space. New and more revealing post to be appearing shortly.

A supermarket car park

To the naked eye, it appeared to be a very normal parking lot, near a busy intersection.

Residing next to a petrol station and annexed , it sat, largely empty, except for a scattering of seemingly innocuous parked cars. In the middle of the afternoon, one would not expect much else from such a mundane setting.

However, if you looked closely, you might notice something slightly out of the ordinary. To the discerning eye, one of the cars was concealing something more than the usual scattering of empty drink cartons and candy wrappers.

A couple... a man and a woman... closely entwined each around the other. Their lips enmeshed; their tongues blended; their arms wound tight around each other.

They lay like teenagers in the back seat, necking furiously... he could not get enough of her, nor she of him.

He inhaled her scent, heady and intoxicating; affecting his senses like a well-breathed wine. Subtle and smooth... and indelibly her.

She melted into him, this wonderful man, who had so swept her off her feet... this amazing person who so completed her... this man with whom she had such a mental and physical connection.

And there they lay, 'neath a warm blanket, shielding their behaviour from prying eyes; though each was all too aware of the other's actions. Their skin tingled at the other's touch.

Clothes shed, they lay naked, wishing the afternoon into eternity.

It was one of the most wonderful days of her life. Just in its calm beauty, and pure feeling of love between two soulmates; two friends; two true lovers.

And in some way, the afternoon never ended. It lives on, a golden and glowing memory.

My personal DNA

I am a Benevolent Creator. Apparently. Who'da thunk it?

You are a Creator

Your imagination, confidence, willingness to explore, and appreciation of beauty make you a CREATOR. You are independent, and you enjoy your self-sufficiency. Defying convention, you are very innovative, and you have a vivid imagination. The look of things is important to you, and you have a keen eye for aesthetic beauty in multiple arenas. You have a strong interest in what is new and exciting—and that includes forging ahead with new ideas, not simply discovering what is already out there. Your eagerness to seek new and varied experiences leads you into many different situations. You're not set on one way of doing things, and you are creative when it comes to finding novel solutions to complex problems. You trust yourself to be innovative and resourceful. Your confidence allows you to take your general awareness and channel it into creativity.

You are Benevolent

You are a great person to interact with—understanding, giving, and trusting—in a word, BENEVOLENT. You don't mind being in social situations, as you feel comfortable enough with people to be yourself. Your caring nature goes beyond a basic concern: you take the time to understand the nuances of people's situations before passing any sort of judgment. You're a good listener, and even better at offering advice. You're concerned with others at both an individual and societal level—you sympathize with the plights of troubled groups, and you can care about people you've never met. Considering many different perspectives is something at which you excel, and you appreciate that quality in others. Other people's feelings are important to you, and you're good at mediating disputes. Because of your understanding and patience, you tend to bring out the best in people.
